Membership Information
Membership in SOCAP is open to all professionals who are involved with promoting and maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty. Members include those involved with consumer affairs, customer service, customer relationship management, inbound call centers, market research, information systems integration, sales and marketing, database management, new business development and operations.
Internationally we have over 3,000 corporate consumer affairs/customer service professionals, representing more than 1,500 companies. Most of these companies are listed in the Fortune/Forbes 1000.
By joining SOCAP, you will become a part of the national chapter as well as the local Great Lakes Chapter affiliate.

- SOCAP's professional magazine, Customer Relationship Management, is published four times annually. Customer Relationship Management offers comprehensive coverage of key subjects vital to consumer affairs/customer service professionals.
- SOCAP's UPDATE newsletter keeps you informed on programs and developments that affect you in the day-to-day performance of your job.
- SOCAP's annual membership directory contains the names, addresses, phone numbers and company affiliations of your fellow consumer affairs/customer service professionals. As a SOCAP member you are included in this "Who's Who in Consumer Affairs/Customer Service" publication. An annual Vendor Guide is also published to make available the leaders in products and services of interest to members.
- SOCAP's Resource Center Bookstore presents the best selection of books covering consumer affairs, customer retention, satisfaction and service. All SOCAP members receive the Bookstore Catalog which offers more than 150 carefully selected books. SOCAP is a great source for surveys and special reports such as the landmark Consumer Loyalty Study, the IVR study, Customer Contact Study, Customer Satisfaction Survey Collection, and many more to keep you informed and current.
- SOCAP's extensive Job Listing appears on the web site and is published in the UPDATE newsletter. Additional career information is avialable on the SOCAP web site through sample job descriptions and a guide to universities that offer consumer affiars curriculum.
- SOCAP's web site (http://www.socap.org) contains up-to-date information on all SOCAP meetings, the entire SOCAP Resource Center Bookstore Catalog, over 500 Customer Relationship Management magazine articles, the SOCAP Members Helping Members online Bulletin Board, and Chat Room. The web site offers links to hundreds of SOCAP member's company web sites, as well as hundreds of resource/research links of interest to members. - SOCAP membership includes affiliation with local SOCAP chapter. SOCAP has established chapters across the country.
